I am someone who loves exploring the variety of food and curate simple and easy recipes.
Mexican food is one of my favorites because of it’s zingy flavor which comes from the spices and sauces used in dishes like Pizza, burger, Tacos and more.
While browsing Netflix for mini series and movies this docuseries suddenly popped up in my recommendations.
As it was limited series with only 3 episodes and was related to Mexican food I definitely had to watch this to know more the about the Mexican food.

What this docuseries Garnachas: Glorious Street Food! is all about?
- This entire mini docuseries is about the Mexican street food Garnachas in Mexican cuisine especially in central and southern Mexico.
- Garnachas consist of a small fried corn tortilla that is topped deep – fried to create a slightly crunchy texture that is topped with the variety of delicious and savory ingredients.
- As seen over this show topping can vary depending upon the region.
But majorly toppings are made of meet, cheese, sauces, fresh vegetables, beans and more. - From this mini series you would come to know about the different ways of making garnachas via street vendors of different places of Mexico.
- It was really amazing to see how passionate these street vendors were about their business.
Each and every street vendors were having their own version of their garnachas and the story behind it. - Andrés “Peluche” Torres was the host of the show who was tasting the different kinds of garnachas and voice over is done by Memo Villegas I personally really enjoyed the voice over done by Memo Villegas it was really fun and entertaining.
- The way Peluche was shown testing garnachas really made me craving Mexican dishes those dishes were looking so yum.
- Only thing he had to do was to test different types of garnachas at various places in Mexico that’s it.
- At that moment I really wanted to have the job like him as I absolutely enjoy eating different variety of food.
- In this show you could see variety of mexican dishes like spicy chalupas, toasted tlayudas, destroyed tacos, dinoquesadillas, and hot dogs with a twist.
Final Thoughts
- This was my first time watching any food show like this.
- It was actually relaxing and interesting to watch and explore the different ways of making granachas and know the stories behind it from the street vendors.
- If you are food lover who enjoys exploring the culinary arts and culture of different cuisines then this mini docuseries is definitely for you.
