A Thousand Splendid Suns short summary

Finally after so long I am sharing my mini book review like previously I did (link – mini book reviews post) when it comes to the books I am not a regular reader as I am more of series person.
I love to watch series and movies more than reading books but this year to reduce my screen time I have started reading books again I hope I continue to do so as much as I can.
I generally like to read non fictional self love/self help books more but this time after so long I decided to go with fictional book.
From my college time I have had heard about this book A thousand splendid suns but never got the chance to read the book finally I got my hands on this book and let me tell I am not all disappointed.
Afghan American Writer Khaled Hosseini has done such an amazing story telling and I didn’t felt even a single time that it is not real.

Emotional Impact: Why “A Thousand Splendid Suns” Is a Must-Read
A Thousand Splendid Suns was the toughest novel for me to read as it has intense scenes in it for me it was really hard to read this book in one go.
This novel is all about the lives of 2 women Mariam and Laila how their life changes post Taliban took the control of Afghanistan.
It is the journey of illegitimate teenager Mariam from Herat who later due to unfathomable family conditions got married to shoemaker Rasheed of Kabul and from there her life conditions started to take different turn.
She wanted to study and wanted to become something big but life had a different plan for her.
Later due to the control of Taliban over Afghanistan Mariam met Laila and her bond with her was not less than mother and daughter.
They both took care of each other but what Mariam sacrifice gave for Laila is something that’s not easy but she did it anyways.
One thing that I really loved about Mariam is that despite of facing issues in her life she still was still going on with life and started to find happiness in small things.
Language of the novel is not that easy if you are a beginner in that case you might face difficulty while reading this book.
In this novel Writer Khaled being the Afghani shredding the light on the life of Afghanis when control was taken by Taliban especially for women and the fact that Taliban is still oppressing women of Afghanistan and taking their basic rights it’s so disturbing as a women.
No one should be feeling unsafe and denied of basic rights like education in their homeland no one.
The way Author Khaled has narrated the life story of these 2 women is just incredible and is definitely must read novel in your free time.
