Finally on 8th March on International women’s day I chose the bestest movie to watch and I regret to not watch this movie earlier when it was released in 2022.
I love watching female protagonist movies where women are shown as the main character of the movies.
This movie is directed by one of my favorite directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
One of the major reasons why I love watching his movies is how beautifully he represents women, each and every character along with the set of the movie is so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.
The way Alia Bhat has acted in this movie and shown every emotion of hers is just so amazing one of her best works I have seen of hers.

The theme of the movie Gangubhai kathiawadi revolves around social justice, women empowerment and resilience.
What Gangubhai kathiawadi movie is about?
This story is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by writer and investigative journalist Hussain.
Gangubhai kathiawadi’s real name was Ganga Harjivandas who belonged to the reputed family of Gujrat but ran away with her boyfriend Ramnik Lal to become actress at Mumbai but destiny had different plan he sold her into prostitution business for Rs 1000 when she was only 16 at the brothel in the kamathipura and since than she was working as a sex worker.
This woman Gangubhai kathiawadi is true example of how to turn the pain into power.
She was truly the epitome of strength & resilience.
Things changed when she was exploited physically and financially by goon named Shaukat Khan Pathan later she asked for the help from the underworld don Karim Lala for the help and made him her brother.
She did everything to come into the power so that she can help her fellow sex workers there kids , girls who were sold unknowingly into the business of prostitution.

My thoughts
This movie is really thought provoking and has shed the light on the social issues. Alia bhatt’s class act and sanjay leela bhansali’s direction is something that you can’t miss soo yes according to me this movie is definitely worth watching.
